How Pricing Works

How Much Does RV Transport Cost?

Plain-English answers to the questions we get most often.

The two base rates — $350 and $450

Every RV transport job starts with one of two base rates, determined by your trailer's GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating — the maximum loaded weight on the manufacturer's sticker):

  • Trailers under 10,000 lbs GVWR$350
  • Trailers 10,000 lbs GVWR and above$450

Those rates are flat fees that cover local moves — specifically, jobs where both the pickup and delivery locations are within 150 miles of our Austin, TX base. That radius covers most of the I-35 corridor, the Texas Triangle, and the Hill Country. If your move fits inside that 150-mile zone, the base rate is the total — no mileage charge, no fuel surcharge.

RV transport cost per mile — longer hauls

For moves where either the pickup or delivery is beyond 150 miles from Austin, we switch to a per-mile model: $3.00 per loaded mile on the full haul (no base rate added on top). That means a 300-mile haul for a heavy fifth wheel would come to around $900 in transport mileage — before deadhead and any fuel surcharge.

Deadhead is the empty driving we do to reach your trailer and to return home after delivery. It's charged at a separate, lower rate and is always spelled out as its own line item in your quote — you'll never see it buried in a blended rate.

Fuel surcharge methodology

We use a live diesel price from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) — specifically the Texas Gulf Coast weekly average — and compare it to a $3.60/gallon baseline. If diesel is at or below baseline, the surcharge is $0. If it's above, we calculate the surcharge based on how many gallons your trailer actually burns over the loaded miles: (loaded miles ÷ MPG) — (current price − $3.60). It's a real number tied to real fuel costs, not a percentage tacked onto the total.

Every line item — base rate or mileage, deadhead, fuel surcharge, tolls estimate — is shown separately in your quote before you commit to anything.

No brokers, no markup

We are a direct carrier. That means the price you see is what we charge — there's no broker in the middle adding a margin on top of what the actual driver gets paid. You deal with us directly from quote to delivery.
