Tank Cleaning
Common questions about our hydro-jet RV tank cleaning service.
High-pressure water is used to flush the inside of your RV's black and gray tanks — cleaning tank walls, valves, piping, and sensors. It removes buildup that standard dumping, built-in rinsers, and chemical treatments can't reach.
Standard dumping removes bulk waste but leaves residue on tank walls. Over time, grease, paper residue, and mineral deposits (struvite) build up and harden. Hydro-jetting physically breaks up and flushes out that buildup — restoring your tanks to proper function.
Struvite is a mineral compound that forms naturally inside holding tanks and hardens onto tank walls, valve housings, and piping. It can't be dissolved by standard chemical treatments. It causes false sensor readings, persistent odors, reduced flow, and partial clogs.
Yes. The service requires shore power, fresh water connection, and a sewer hookup at your site. If your setup doesn't meet these requirements, call us at (512) 593-1673 and we'll discuss options.
Most jobs take 1–2 hours depending on the number of tanks and the level of buildup.
In most cases, yes. False readings are almost always caused by buildup coating the sensors. Once the tanks are cleaned, sensors typically return to accurate readings.
No. The process is 100% high-pressure water — no harsh chemicals, no damage to your RV's plumbing.
Tank cleaning is $175 for the first tank and $75 for each additional tank, for on-site service within 30 miles of Austin. Locations beyond 30 miles are quoted per job. See our Pricing page for details.
